Seniors

Eastchester Senior Services & Programs
   Provides comprehensive and coordinated community –based support systems designed to enable seniors to remain in their own homes and community as long as possible as well as a weekday lunch program and senior centers. (Gilda Press - 771-3340) (Email)

Senior Citizens Council
    Offers recreational, cultural, and educational programs for seniors through centers in Bronxville and Tuckahoe. The centers also provide referrals, information and case assessment services.

Gramatan Village
   Provides seniors in the greater Bronxville Community with information and access to services so that they can remain in their homes safely and confidently as they age; membership required.                                       (Julie Dalton 914-337-1338)   (Email)

Concordia College                                                                                             The primary goal of the Books & Coffee Series is to offer an educational, and hopefully entertaining, program to area residents through discussion of current fiction and non-fiction books, while at the same time offering an opportunity to socialize with peers and to interact with Concordia students, faculty, and staff. Health

Eastchester Volunteer Ambulance Corps (EVAC)
   Provides both basic and advanced life support ambulance services anywhere in Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe, using paramedic and volunteer personnel. (Jude Valerioti – 337-3007) (Email)

Lawrence Hospital Center
   A community hospital, offers a full range of inpatient, outpatient and emergency medical care services, as well as health education classes.

Lawrence Hospital Center Community Flu Shot Program
   Administers to the BET Senior community the flu shot vaccine at Lake Isle Senior Center, Tuckahoe Community Center and Bronxville Senior Center in the Fall.   914-787-5268

Westchester End of Life Coalition
    Assists in improving the end-of-life experience for those in the community with life-limiting conditions.  Works with the families to provide competent, compassionate and timely care and support.

Counseling

The Bereavement Center of Westchester

   Supports and counsels adults and children who are grieving the death of a loved in an understanding and safe environment.  The cornerstone program of BCW is the Tree House Program which is an eight week grief support program designed for children ages 4-18 whose parent or sibling has died, and for the surviving parent or guardian. Cancer Support Team, Inc

   Provides a comprehensive program of support services to cancer patients and their families including nursing care management, pain and symptom control, education, counseling, financial and transportation assistance.    Offers counseling and psychotherapy to families seeking help for a variety of emotional conflicts and family problems.

Victims Assistance Services

Education

 

ACT - Aid for Children of Tomorrow

   Organization which promotes the health and welfare of children.  It operates the From Athlete to Student Program in the Mount Vernon High School which is designed to assist  young athletes improve their study skills and grades as they exercise and develop healthy lifestyles. College Careers Fund of Westchester, Inc.
   Offers opportunities for higher education to disadvantaged youth by providing educational and career guidance, counseling, and financial assistance. (Blanche Walker – 428-3435) (Email)

D.A.R.E. Eastchester Police Department
   Drug Abuse Resistance Education, educates children about the dangers of substance abuse.

D.A.R.E. Tuckahoe Police Department
   Drug Abuse Resistance Education, educates children about the dangers of substance abuse.

Family Services of Westchester, Inc. JLAW - Juvenile Delinquency Prevention Program
   Aims to prevent juvenile delinquency by presenting workshops in elementary and middle schools on decision-making in situations involving crime and teaches respect for the law.  (Amy Wallace – 872-5240) (Email)

The Maxwell Institute
   Provides alcohol and drug abuse education programs for families, schools, and other institutions, as well as assessment, intervention, treatment and recovery support for those fighting substance abuse.

Youth

Concordia Conservatory    
   In conjunction with the Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe libraries, introduces an interdisciplinary program integrating music and literature in a way to encourage reading, critical thinking, discovery and expression through the music and arts. Eastchester Community Action Program (ECAP)
   Provides community services to low-income families, such as a food pantry, after-school programs, summer activities for children, and emergency support.

Heartsong Incorporated
   Provides music and art therapy to children with disabilities in Westchester, serving ages birth through teens.

South East Consortium for Special Services, Inc.
   Offers therapeutic programs for youth, teens and adults with disabilities in addition to inclusive programs for non-disabled and disabled.

Bronxville Youth Council Inc.
   Provides volunteer and leadership opportunities for high school students in the village of Bronxville. (Jillana Rosenberg, Director – 337-0500 ext.1789) (Email)

Eastchester Youth Council Inc. – Summer Theater
   Provides a summer theater workshop for Eastchester town residents aged 13 – 21. Instructions in drama, voice, dance, instrumental music and theater crafts are given tuition-free with a musical presentation in August. The 2008 production is "Camelot".  (Bunny Rappaport – 235-3057)

Eastchester Teen Scene

Tuckahoe Police Youth Programs
Provides events for the youth population such as "Bike Safety Day", "Cops for Kids Softball & Kickball Tournament", "Open Gym Nights" in order to foster partnerships and valuable relationships with the youth.
