President's Letter
2007-2008

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

We are proud to present our Annual Report to the Community describing the contributions of The Community Fund of Bronxville Eastchester Tuckahoe, Inc. during the period July 1, 2006 – June 30, 2007.

We extend a special thank you to the over 1,000 families, individuals and businesses that supported The Community Fund with generous contributions this past year.  Your support during the 2006-07 Annual Campaign and the May 2007 Golf Outing made it possible to increase our grants to the record level of $700,000 for the coming year. This will allow us to continue to support our over 30 local social service member agencies and ongoing community projects as well as fund several new important initiatives and one time projects.

We want to highlight a few of the initiatives and projects made possible for   this coming year:

  • EVAC A new, state-of-the-art ambulance
  • Lawrence Hospitals Community Flu Shot Program
  • Aid For Children Of Tomorrow, a new tutoring program at the Tuckahoe School
  • Gramatan Village, a new program supporting Seniors to remain independent in their homes
  • Bereavement Center of Westchester - Westchester’s training video
  • Concordia Conservancy’s Musical Adventures at the three Public Libraries
  •  TYA Field Safety Project
  • Defibrillators for Concordia College’s community centers

An increasingly important role for The Community Fund is our ability to respond throughout the year to community needs and emergencies with our Discretionary Fund.  Emergency funds for last year’s Tuckahoe Fire Victims, radios for Eastchester’s Emergency Control Center, youth seat belts for the community buses, and seed money for new projects like Teen Scene are examples of how the Discretionary Fund has responded to community needs for the past couple of years.  Please let us know if you are aware of special community needs that we can support during the coming year.

To learn more about The Community Fund, we encourage you to visit our website: www.thecommunityfund.org. Read about the activities, see a listing of volunteer opportunities, download a copy of The Senior Guide, The Community Guide, or the new Community Adventure Guide, and find out how to contribute.

You, our friends and neighbors, are what make this possible!

Sincerely,
Travis F. Epes, President
Tracy Rutherfurd, Executive Director
